Dental Care

Did you know that more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease by the age of two? (Source: American Veterinary Medical Association) These are eye-opening figures, especially when you consider that dental disease can lead to bacteria entering your pet’s bloodstream, which may result in serious damage to the heart, liver and kidneys.

We believe that one of the most important aspects of pet health care is attention to dental care. Dental disease is the number one health issue we see in our daily practice.  A poor oral health leads to bad breath, infections, heart, disease, and chronic pain.

New Hope Animal Hospital offers a wide range of dental services including dental home care instruction, in-hospital cleaning for more advanced calculus and periodontal disease, digital dental x-ray, and tooth extraction.

If more advanced dental procedures are needed we will refer you to a veterinary dentist. If you have ever experienced a “tooth ache,” you can appreciate our efforts to educate our clients on the benefits of oral health care for their pets.
